What Is NIHB?

The Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) program provides coverage for eligible First Nations and Inuit clients for a set range of medical, dental, and vision services. It’s administered by Indigenous Services Canada and is designed to fill gaps not covered by provincial or private plans.

Eligibility

✅ Registered First Nations (Status) under the Indian Act
✅ Inuit beneficiaries as defined in the Inuit Health Policy
✅ Clients with proof of status card or registration number
