Dr. D.K. Mittal - Owner / CEO

Dr D.K Mittal is the sole owner of Greenwoods Dental and Surgical Centres. He founded Greenwoods Dental and Surgical Centre on 693 McPhillips St, Winnipeg in 2004 and then successfully established many other locations in Winnipeg, Vancouver, and Ontario.

He graduated in 1995 from the Prestigious Punjabi University, India and achieved Canadian accreditation in 1999 after taking advanced restorative courses from University of Western Ontario and successfully challenging the NDEB examinations. He then practiced clinical dentistry for Health Canada for 5 years in Northern Communities. Dr D.K Mittal has since then been practicing clinical dentistry in Winnipeg, MB, Canada.

He has been actively involved in upgrading to newer and advanced techniques in Laser Dentistry, Implant Dentistry, Intravenous Conscious Sedation, Sinus Augmentation, Nitrous Oxide Sedation, Root Canals and many more. In his spare time, he likes to work out in the gym and loves playing the harmonica.

Dr. Rufus Abubaker - General Dentist

Dr. Rufus Abubaker graduated in 2014 from the renowned Dr. Tamil Nadu M.G.R Medical University located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu (South India). He did his senior residency at the Government Stanley Medical College and Hospital, mostly catering to the lower socio-economic status of the population. There he gained valuable experience in extractions and managing maxillofacial trauma, along with crown and bridges, root canal therapy and managing soft tissue lesions.

After getting settled in Toronto, Ontario in 2015, Dr. Rufus started and successfully completed the Canadian equivalency program (NDEB) in 2018. He made the move to rural Manitoba, where he worked in private practice in for a year prior to joining Greenwoods Dental & Surgical.

Dr Rufus has a great passion for dentistry, lots of interest in endodontics, cosmetic dentistry and surgery. He enjoys fabricating crowns and bridges for patients to provide great function and esthetics.

He also loves travelling and exploring new places, and especially trying out the local cuisines that every city has to offer.

Dr. Vipul Prajapati - General Dentist

Dr. Vipul Prajapati pursued his Bachelors in Dentistry in 2011 from Government Dental College in the city of Ahmedabad, India, where he had been a scholar and ranked first in the institute. Since graduation, he has been practicing dentistry in India for over four years. He worked in community health centers as well to serve low socio-economic communities.

To advance his career, he moved to Canada in 2017. He cleared all NDEB equivalency exams in November 2019 and received a license as a general dentist. He worked in a clinic in Brampton, Ontario before he decided to move to Winnipeg. He has joined our team in July 2020, and is excited to serve Manitobans as a dentist.

Dr. Prajapati is very passionate about dentistry, believing in evidence-based dentistry. Throughout his years of journey as a dentist, he has gained vast experience in various aspects of dentistry and has a zest for learning something new every day. He works with his own philosophy – “We as dentists not only must emphasize excellence in dental work but also reflect strong components of humanism, kindness, and compassion towards our patients.”

In his free time, you can find him either on a couch listening to music or traveling or playing volley-ball and table-tennis.

Dr. Majid Afrasiabifar - General Dentist

Dr. Majid Afrasiabifar graduated in 1995 from the Azad University of Medical Sciences located in Tehran, Iran. He has practiced dentistry in Iran for over 14 years, owning and operating his own dental office. He received his professional affiliation with the Iranian Medical Council during this time. In 2014, he received his MBA certificate accredited by Oxford University.

To advance his career, he moved to Canada in 2016 and cleared all NDEB equivalency exams in November 2019, receiving his license as a general dentist shortly after. Dr. Majid has a great passion for dentistry, with vast experience dealing with various dental aspects of dentistry such as root canal therapy, oral surgery, restoration, fixed and removable prosthesis, and pediatrics.

He enjoys the challenge of providing quality family dentistry in a comfortable and friendly environment. Dr. Majid is happy to help Greenwoods Dental with their patients in need of difficult extractions and wisdom teeth.

Dr. Oleksandr Ielisov - General Dentist

Dr. Oleksandr Ielisov is originally from Ukraine, where he graduated from Bogomolets National Medical University in Kyiv City in 2007. He worked as a general dentist over the next 8 years, where he improved and honed his skills in contemporary methods of treatment. In 2015, Dr. Ielisov (or Dr. Alex as we like to call him) immigrated to Canada to improve his professional skills to an international level. Although, he was not able to practice dentistry upon his arrival, he worked hard as a dental technician as he prepared for the NDEB (The National Dental Examining Board of Canada).

Beginning in 2018, he began taking courses in Toronto and was able to successfully complete and pass all the NDEB exams in 2020, demonstrating his incredible dedication to the profession. He has worked extremely hard the past years to achieve the goal of becoming a licensed dentist in Canada. Dr. Alex joined Greenwoods Dental Centre in January 2021. He is known to be a very kind and caring person, who is very detail oriented with all his work. He definitely has a true passion for dentistry as a craft and as a profession. Dr Alex is keen on constantly increasing his knowledge and skills through courses and seminars.

In his free time, Dr. Alex he loves to spend quality time with his wife and two children, exploring the different cities Canada has to offer. He also enjoys playing sports, running, street dancing and listening to modern music.

Dr. Arpanbir Judge - General Dentist

Dr. Arpanbir Judge graduated from Baba Farid University of Health Sciences in 2004 and went on to do his Master’s in Oral Medicine and Radiology from Rajasthan University of Health Sciences.

He successfully completed his equivalency process in 2018 and is an Canadian Dental Board certified dentist. The valuable experience of three years of post graduation helps him in delivering most apt diagnosis for the patients there by bringing the best outcome in treatment. Patient care and satisfaction are of utmost importance to him. He loves to practice all aspects of dentistry.

In his free time, he loves watching movies or just hits the road with his wife and son for long drives to explore new places. He is fluent in English, Punjabi and Hindi and is accepting new patients.

Dr. Daniel Kim - General Dentist

Dr. Dan Kim is a graduate of the University of Manitoba where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science. He continued on to further his education by enrolling in the Faculty of Dentistry where he completed his DMD degree.

Before joining Greenwoods Dental Centre in March of 2014, he previously worked in private practice in Brandon, Manitoba and was also providing dental care in Northern communities on First Nations Reserves.

Dr. Dan takes pleasure in all aspects of the dental field, as well as getting to know his patients. When is not working he likes to enjoy his free time relaxing, watching sports, or you can find him on the court playing some late-night basketball with his friends. Dr. Dan is fluent in Korean and is accepting new patients and emergencies.

Dr. Navneet Sandhu - General Dentist

Dr. Navneet Sandhu is a graduate of the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences in India, where she obtained her Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree. Upon her move to Winnipeg to join her family, she successfully completed the NDEB Equivalency In January of 2018 and is now officially a board certified general dentist in Canada.

Dr. Navneet is extremely passionate about dentistry and takes special interest in patient care, extractions, crown and bridge prosthetic rehabilitation. She thoroughly enjoys every aspect and is truly grateful to be able to provide an amazing aesthetic appearance to patients that brings a beautiful smile to their faces.

She has joined our team in July of 2018 and is very much excited to start her career with us, as well as all of our patients. Dr. Navneet is fluent in English, Hindi and Punjab.

Dr. Roman Sapozhnik - General Dentist

Dr. Sapozhnik received his Bachelor of Science at the University of Winnipeg and then travelled to Midwestern University in Illinois to complete his Doctor of Dental Medicine. Following graduation, he completed a one-year post-doctoral Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at the University of Texas, Houston. After residency, he returned to his hometown of Winnipeg, Manitoba, where he has been practicing dentistry ever since.

Throughout his education he learned the importance of putting the patient first, delivering high-quality dental work and building long-lasting trustworthy relationships. He continually strives to be the best clinician he can and to learn the most critical and innovative dental services and technologies.

Dr. Sapozhnik’s main goal is to make you feel comfortable, listen to your needs and help you to achieve a happy, healthy and long-lasting smile. When he is not in the dental chair he enjoys sports, mixed martial arts, movies, eateries, travelling and spending time with his family. He always enjoys seeing familiar faces and meeting new people so please come visit him soon.

Dr. Jessy Rayan - General Dentist

Dr. Jessy Rayan graduated in 2013 from the University of Aleppo in Syria, after She did her Masters Degree there. She then gained valuable experience in extractions and managing maxillofacial surgeries, along with crowns and bridges, root canal therapy with managing soft tissue lesions.

After getting settled in Calgary, Alberta – Dr. Jessy started and successfully completed the Canadian equivalency program (NDEB) in 2018. She made the move with her Family to Manitoba in 2019, where she joined Greenwoods Dental & Surgical Centers.

Dr. Jessy has a great passion for dentistry, with lots of interest in cosmetic treatment and surgery. She enjoys providing a “Life Changing Smile” Plus INVISALIGN Treatment for her patients. She also loves traveling and exploring new Cultures, Music and Photography. She is fluent in English and Arabic language.

Dr. Drew Brueckner - Endodontic Specialist
BSc.;BSc.(Dent.);D.M.D.;Cert. Endo

Dr. Brueckner received his BSc. in Biology from the University of Winnipeg and his D.M.D. and BSc. in Dentistry from the University of Manitoba in 1992. He practiced general dentistry from 1992-2006 in Winnipeg . During that time Drew was also a part time clinical instructor and lecturer for the undergraduate endodontics program at the University of Manitoba.

Dr. Brueckner received his endodontic specialty certificate form the University of Southern California in 2008 and the American Association of Endodontics Educator Fellowship Award. He was the former Division Head in Endodontics at U of M from 2008-2010 and has been in private practice limited to endodontics in Winnipeg since 2010. Dr. Brueckner Joined Greenwoods Dental Centres February 2021.

Dr. Ziad Bagdadi - Endodontic Specialist

Dr. Ziad Baghdadi is a board certified specialist in Pediatric Dentistry, currently works as an associate Professor in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Manitoba teaching both undergraduate and graduate students, and has a background in dentistry for children (from birth up to age 18) spanning over 25 years.

After obtaining his Doctor of Dental Surgery (University of Damascus 1992), Ziad completed his specialty training in pediatric dentistry at the University of Damascus in 1996, subsequently obtaining masters and PhD degrees in 1999, and 2002, respectively. He also holds master’s in public health from A. T. Still University, USA. He earned an additional Dental Specialty and Training Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from University of Manitoba and another PhD from the University of Saskatchewan, both in 2019. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.

Ziad is also an active member of the Canadian and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Manitoba Dental Association, and the Canadian Association of Public Dentistry, presenting lectures during their scientific meetings. During his free time, Ziad enjoys watching his 2 sons playing soccer, and travelling with his wife and sons.

Dr. Nida Amir - Pediatric Specialist

Dr. Nida Amir is a board certified Pediatric dentist. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She completed her dental education from Pakistan with a Gold medal for first position and 7 distinctions. She immigrated to Canada in 2012 and went to McGill University and then University of British Columbia for Pediatric dentistry. She loves working with children. She spends her free time cooking, traveling or playing video games with her two boys and her husband. She loves organizing community events to raise awareness for oral health and dental care.

Dr. Hermann Lee - Orthodontist

A passionate and dedicated person in the dental health and education of the younger generation, Dr. Hermann Lee has been practicing orthodontics in Winnipeg for over 22 years.

Dr. Lee holds an M.Sc Degree in Biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin, and a DMD and MS (Orthodontics) from Washington University of St. Louis, USA. He also is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Manitoba.

Dr. Lee believes in efficiency in treatment and is dedicated to minimizing treatment time for his patients. To achieve this he has chosen to use exclusively the Speed System Braces (www.speedsystem.com) or Invisalign (www.invisalign.com)in the appropriate cases.

Dr. Hermann Lee - Orthodontist

A passionate and dedicated person in the dental health and education of the younger generation, Dr. Hermann Lee has been practicing orthodontics in Winnipeg for over 22 years.

Dr. Reem Atout - Periodontist

Dr. Reem N. Atout received her Bachelor’s degree in Dental Surgery (BDS) from Jordan University of Science and Technology in 2000. Shortly after that, she moved to California, where she obtained her California dental license and practiced in general dentistry for a few years.

In 2009, she joined the University of Alabama in Birmingham where she continued her training and earned a Master in Science (MS) and a Certificate in Periodontology. She then moved to Winnipeg where she taught at the University of Manitoba as an assistant professor until 2019.

Dr. Reem Atout is a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (FRCDC), a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, a member of the Canadian and American Academy of Periodontology, and of the Canadian Dental Association. She is looking forward to meeting you and taking care of your periodontal needs.

Dr. Jadesola Giwa - General Dentist

Dr. Jadesola Giwa was born in Ikorodu, Nigeria and moved to Canada with her family in her early teens. She received her Bachelor of Health Sciences, Honors, from the University of Calgary then moved to Atlanta where she earned her Master of Public Health in Health Policy and Management from Emory University. She then graduated from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill with her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, then completed a one-year hospital dentistry residency at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Washington.

Dr. Giwa is an oral health advocate, she helps her patients understand the role of oral health on systemic health by giving patients the tools they need to gain control of their oral health. In dental school, she received the American lnterprofessional Health Collaborative (AIHC) Student Award for Interprofessional Collaborative Practice. She is committed to the whole patient and is happy to work with other professionals to ensure optimal health of her patients. In residency, she provided dental care to patients with medically complex and special needs, and gained certification in IV moderate conscious sedation and nitrous oxide sedation. She is committed to life-long learning and offers a range of services such as crowns/bridges, root canals, composite restorations, biopsies, simple and surgical extractions, partial and complete dentures, implant crown restorations, oral cancer screening, and many more.

Dr. Giwa loves spending time with family and friends, enjoying good food, hiking, and travelling.

Dr. Anish Ghai - Endodontist Resident

Dr. Ghai grew up in Thompson, Manitoba. He obtained his Bachelor of Science at the University of Manitoba. He then moved to Boston to attend Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine at Boston University, where he obtained his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (DMD).

To further expand his clinical skills for the betterment of his patients, Dr. Ghai attended Stony Brook University in New York to complete a General Practice Residency. It was during residency when he fell in love with the field of Endodontics. In 2020 he began his Endodontic Residency Program at Stony Brook University. Upon graduation, he decided to take his skills back to the province that raised him. He is looking forward to provide care to his patients at the highest level.

In his spare time, Dr. Ghai enjoys hiking, being out on the water, travelling to new places, and trying new foods.

Dr. Abhishek Batra - Pediatric Specialist

Dr. Batra received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of New Brunswick, Saint John. He obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) and Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry along with Master of Science in Dentistry from Loma Linda University, California. He practiced in Southern California as a pediatric dentist and later decided to be closer to family and moved back to Canada. Dr. Batra places special emphasis on preventative dental care.
