Cosmetic Medical Surgeries

Cosmetic surgery is a quickly growing type of procedure that aims to alter the appearance of a person’s physical appearance. There are many different types of cosmetic surgery and can be done to nearly every part of the body. Some people get elective cosmetic surgery to change their appearance based on preference, while others undergo cosmetic surgery to fix a deformity like a cleft lip.

Breast Surgery

A common procedure when it comes to plastic surgery, breast surgery can be performed to enlarge, reduce, lift, or remove the breast entirely due to breast cancer. Different combinations of these procedures can be performed depending on the situation. Contrary to what many may think, these procedures can also be performed on men.

Liposuction

Liposuction vacuums out fat from specific parts of the body to sculpt and form according to the patient’s desires. Liposuction can be used on the breasts to perform a breast reduction, the thighs, back, hips, abdomen, neck, and arms. Complications are rare but can happen. This procedure also does not reduce the patient’s risk of developing heart disease, diabetes, or high blood pressure.

Buttock Augmentation or Lift

Patients that received a buttocks augmentation are looking to enhance the appearance of their rear by either grafting fat from another part of the body or by having silicone implants inserted. A buttock lift is when excess skin is removed from the hips, thighs, or buttocks to have it removed, and thus, tightened.

Facial Cosmetic Surgery

Cosmetic surgeries that have to do with the face fall under the category of facial cosmetic surgery. Some common ones include blepharoplasty or eyelid surgery, rhinoplasty, otoplasty, rhytidectomy, brow lift, chin augmentation, and cheek augmentation. Some of these may sound common like rhinoplasty, which is the process of reshaping a patients nose, or blepharoplasty, which can help decrease the appearance of wrinkles around the eye. Others may sound a little less common like otoplasty. An otoplasty reshapes ears that may appear too large or stick too far out.

While cosmetic medical surgery is very common, it can be a serious procedure and should not be taken lightly. When looking for a cosmetic doctor, be sure to do your research and make sure your health is in the hand of a trusted professional. It may also be suggested that you seek out counseling to ensure your mental and emotional care is healthy before pursuing serious procedures.
